"The Piano" follows the Charles family in 1936 Depression-era Pittsburgh and their struggle over what to do with a priceless piano heirloom inherited from an enslaved ancestor. The film is produced by Denzel Washington and is also based on a play by legendary playwright August Wilson. The film is directed by Malcolm Washington and co-written by Mudbound's Oscar nominee Virgil Williams, who co-wrote the screenplay with Dee Rees. Denzel's other son, John David Washington, plays Willie Charles, a young boy who comes to town and enters the lives of his sister Berniece and her Uncle Doaker. Young Willie is there to receive his inheritance: a piano carved by a relative who was a slave at the time.

In Harry Meyers-Shyer's second feature film, Goodrich 2024 Afdar, she watches Andy try to be a better father. He's on the verge of losing his art gallery, separated from his second wife, and is in a 90-day rehab program. Andy lives alone with his young children, and he's turning to the only person he can think of for his daughter, Grace, from his first marriage. The problem is that Andy isn't a good father to Grace, and he has a lot of issues he needs to deal with. This is a great story about a man who forgets about his family and gets lost in his work. Andy is shocked by his wife's addiction problems and must come to terms with being a single father while caring for his adult, pregnant daughter.

Wicked begins with Grande's Glinda making a grand entrance in Munchkinland to tell her adoring fans that the rumors are true and the witch is really dead. We then see flashbacks to her college days and her unexpected alliance with the green-skinned Elphaba. Glinda, or Galinda as she is now called, is sweet, spoiled and mean, always getting her own way. However, when the two are forced to share a room, they are surprised to discover that they have feelings for each other that neither of them had noticed before. Galinda's transformation anthem "Popular", one of the most popular songs in the series, is one of the highlights of the film and a great example of the technical mastery that Wicked has to offer.

Blitz is not a story about the conflict of World War II. The film focuses solely on London and how Nazi bombing has changed life there. Scenes of pure panic occur frequently in the film, including a terrifying opening moment as air raid sirens blare and enemy planes circle overhead, inviting an escape into the bleak everyday life of people at the mercy of pre-war power. The sense that, although there is an order for war, it cannot be helped remains. For Rita, such events are a reminder that George is not safe, and that a separation is necessary for which he is not yet ready. There is a program to take kids to the countryside, but George is reluctant to participate, initially putting him at odds with his mother. When the boy refuses to pick up his parents from the train station, his mother is heartbroken.

Absolution 2024 has many of the characteristics of the other films in Neeson's current series, in which troubled and dangerous men face an existential crisis. Best known as Thug, his character is an aging Boston gangster who has seen and done some pretty awful things. Ageism is part of the criminal underworld, so he isn't respected by the younger generation, despite being hardworking in his job and able to lash out when called upon. To make matters worse, he has been diagnosed with CTE after experiencing many setbacks early in his boxing career - his memory is failing and his physical strength is also declining, so he wants to get some proper training before it.
